Alicia was a trained and skilled pilot. She completed her commercial pilot license at Harv’s Air, in Steinbach, Manitoba.
She was passionately involved with the Manitoba Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, an international organization for women pilots that promotes advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support.

The Manitoba Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is pleased to announce the availability of the
Alicia Patel D’Souza Emerging Pilots Scholarship.
This scholarship is $500.00 or 50 hours of flight time on C-FLUG, including fuel, and is designed to
acknowledge women who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment promoting and supporting other
women pilots through leadership within the Manitoba Chapter of the 99s, Inc.
The scholarship is open to members of the Manitoba Chapter of the 99’s, who hold a Private Pilot License or higher.
Scholarship payment in the form of cash will be made to the flight school or flying club directly,
For the C-FLUG flight time option, the form of flight hours will be applied directly to the recipient’s FLUG account.
Cash or flight hours shall be used by October 1st of the award year.
